Cheekie came in my life just a little bit before I got my freak accident with the hurricane waves.
The waves were so huge that day and I tried to convince two people to NOT go in the ocean.
They were going to surf the waves with paddle boards. Total insanity!
There were even dolphins and I wasn't going!!!
Too crazy.
It took me too long to talk them out of it and the wave (I was warning them about) took me and slammed and dragged me over the sharp lava. Result : a lot of skin was gone on both legs.
The hospital made a major mistake with gluing the skin on my foot together and leaving some little lava stones in it. A day later I had an elephant leg.
Two days later I was rushed into the surgery room because it got really bad. Turned out I had MRSA in my wounds.
Result antibiotics for a week and drains in my legs and not be able to walk for more than a month.
And of course no ocean and NO swimming.
Only thing I could do was sitting and painting and heal. Cheekie started lying under my chair from day one and never left it ever since.
When he was lying under my chair I would hear him purring. I believe he helped me heal my legs.
He is my soulmate ever since!
And this year i had to rush him twice in the ER for crystals and other stuff. And I had to help him.
Where I sit and paint there he is sending his purring energy into the painting!
I loooove Cheekie baby so much. I hope he is with me for much longer but he has some health problems. It drives me crazy of course. I have many vet bills and created the Cheekie shirt to fund his banc account to pay for his meds and vet visits.
The t-shirts are very inspirational and fun.
Cheekie is born with a little tail and that makes him so unique. His character, his presence is so beautiful. He is always very relaxed and just being with him brings you in true relaxation.
Nowhere to go or be just where you are right now.
What if nothing is wrong? And everything is right.
His mantra, Pali Summerlin's mantra (my spiritual teacher)
Cheekie baby has his own fan club kinda. When he was in the hospital twice a lot of aunties and uncles did a fundraiser to support Cheekie's recovery.
His mom (me) was always plagued with insecurity of his well being.
It's not always easy.
Cheekie baby is well loved.
